[Since this multi-parter has been interspersed between a few other posts, here are quick-reference links to Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3. And, in case you need a reminder of how Gurtash ended up here, take this one, too.]

Battle scars indeed. Fortunate to have such comrades- and a friend.

Ah, Gurtash. Such is the way of any battle’s conclusion, as unfortunate as it may seem. My heart weeps for the young ones! It seems like only yesterday I was stringing a bow for the first time when I review this sad tale. Wasn’t our war, nay, all wars, merely a battle to ensure that our children, our families alone, be they children, elderly or esteemed, promising warriors much like ourselves, would never have to fight in a war themselves? Didn’t we agree to take on the world so that you wouldn’t have to!? This is a travesty. A travesty, I say! Why, if I had my own way, I’d burn that wretched temple to the ground, but what good would it do? I’m a woman of many scars, but tell me, what scar stings more, the wounds of flesh,or the desecration of the spirit and soul itself? It would be foolish for me to expect a response. Ah, but you are not alone, young warrior. How compelling for the heart it is to see the lovely Rue’kara at your side! And forgive me for prying curiously, but do I detect a flicker of blossoming courtship? No, of course not, don’t mind me! Mayhap I speak for us all when I say that we are but a tiny bit intrigued. Nevertheless, I have faith that you will fully recover from this most corrupt of nightmares, Gurtash. The Light stands at your side, and ascertains that you…wait, how many words was that?
